Surveying (1)We had a ridiculously high price quoted to us by the original surveyor for doing an 'as is' survey of the house. We think it was a mix between the 'tourist price' and an over-excess of confidence that the job was his come-what-may. He didn't take into account that Clive's background is as a civil engineer and he is perfectly at home with a staff and level so we are now doing the surveying ourselves. Here you can see the staff sitting on the manhole outside our front door. We have taken this as a nominal benchmark of 100.00 and the whole site will be related to that one level. Any clues as to what the thing is sticking out from above the door? Answers please ...
