When we took over our new home in Umbria, Italy, the house had been empty for several years. This attracted its own problems; with the main one being exacerbated by the previous owner's change of design and principal functionality for the house and its grounds.

On the pages which are linked to this, you can read about our attempts to 'open up' the land and the house as well to turn the house from cold, isolated shell into a modern, warm property which positively welcomes guests.
